How to Use the Text Tool

This guide explains how to use all the features of your advanced word and character counter.

1. Basic Usage: Typing and Counting

The primary function of the tool is to analyze the text you provide.

Entering Text

Simply start typing or paste any text into the large text box that says "Start typing or paste your text here...".

Real-time Statistics

As you type, the four boxes below the text area will update automatically:

  • Words: Shows the total number of words.
  • Characters: Shows the total number of characters, including spaces and punctuation.
  • Characters (No Spaces): Shows the count of characters, excluding all spaces.
  • Reading Time: Provides an estimated time to read the text, based on an average reading speed of 225 words per minute.

2. The Text Area

The tool includes convenient features that work in the background.

  • Auto-Save: Your text is automatically saved to your browser's local storage every 15 seconds. The status "Saved at [time]" will appear in the top-right corner to confirm.
